Merchants Insurance Group Colleagues, Company Match Donations Total Almost $10,000 for Hurricane Relief

Merchants Insurance Group would like to thank their corporate and regional employees for their generosity in raising funds for Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. With the company match, the total donation was almost $10,000, benefitting the American Red Cross.

During Hurricane Harvey, Merchants’ employees in Buffalo, Long Island, New England and New Jersey raised $2,296, plus the company match, to bring the total to

$4,592. Hurricane Irma American Red Cross donations amounted to $4,210. Colleagues at the company raised the funds through “dress-down” days.

Merchants will also be collecting personal items for donation through the National Guard’s Connecticut Street Armory for Hurricane Maria victims in Puerto Rico. The company will be collecting items such as diapers, baby formula, flashlights, batteries, blankets, and personal first aid kits, in addition to cash.
