The employees of Merchants Insurance Group contributed more than $250,000 from 2003 through 2012 to charities, with a new annual record of $33,715 raised in 2012.

Contributions went to various non-profit groups throughout Western New York, including the Cantalician Center, American Lung Association, Buffalo River Food Pantry, Canine Helpers for the Handicapped, Ride for Roswell, Summit Educational Resources and the Western New York Children’s Psychiatric Center, among others.

The employees were able to raise funds through activities such as “dress-down” days, auctions and split clubs. The activities are organized and managed by Merchants’ employees through their C.I.A., or Colleagues in Action, committee.
