“Merchants Mutual” Debuts New Signage

BUFFALO, N.Y., June 15, 2020 – Merchants Mutual Insurance Company, headquartered on Main Street in downtown Buffalo, unveiled a new sign recently to replace their existing sign, removed in December 2019.The old sign was removed as part of continuing preservation and renovation efforts for the building, and in keeping with other changes going on to this portion of Main Street.

Located at 250 Main Street, the building and its “Merchants Mutual” iconic sign
were completed in 1965. The new sign will enhance the appearance of the building and
employ a more energy efficient design.

The signage upgrade is funded in part by the New York Main Street program, as
part of a grant obtained by Buffalo Place for Main Street building improvements which
helps commercial buildings improve the appearance of their original architecture.
