Merchants Insurance Group is proud to recognize Mark Kwandrans, a Project Manager for the company, as the 2013 President’s Award winner, the highest honor Merchants’ bestows on its colleagues.

Mr. Kwandrans was nominated by John Bodensteiner, Assistant Vice President and Director of the Project Management Office (PMO). The award was presented by Merchants’ President and CEO Bob Zak in March.

Mr. Kwandrans was selected as the 2013 winner of the President’s Award as he exemplifies the company’s core values and works for the company’s policyholders, agents, colleagues and stakeholders through his conscientious work, competency, professionalism and self development.

“Since joining the company, Mark has consistently dedicated himself to improving the viability of the Merchants’ PMO as well as the value that our project management processes bring to the company,” said Bodensteiner. “His vast experience in the project management area provides a solid foundation for new ideas and new methods for solving problems or challenges that have arisen in the project area.”

Mr. Kwandrans has been with Merchants since 2008. He earned his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 2001. He also previously served as the president of the Project Management Institute (PMI) Buffalo chapter. He is currently a member of the Ethics Review Committee of PMI Board of Directors.

In addition to receiving a plaque and the honor of the award, he will also receive a monetary gift.
