“Interning this summer at Merchants has been such a great experience. I got to work alongside some incredibly knowledgeable people who were extremely generous with their time and guidance. Being able to work in Corporate services as well as sit with different departments gave me a clearer view of how things run here, and I’m very appreciative of my time here. Huge thanks to Merchants for the opportunity to learn and grow my knowledge of the insurance world!”
Nathan Juman, IT, Software Developer Intern

“My experience this summer has been invaluable to my growth as a professional, and I am incredibly grateful for the time I’ve spent at Merchants. I’ve had the chance to explore many different avenues of the business (Software Development, Business Analysts, Underwriting), and my confidence as a developer has skyrocketed because of the experience I’ve had here. For my position, I had to learn several new technologies. My team made the learning process simple and straightforward, with a lot of the skills I’ve learned stemming from actual development. I’ve been able to contribute a good amount towards several applications, and I’ve learned a lot while feeling that I have a real purpose in the team process. Special thanks to Umesh Mallya and Zachary Pataky, who have both been wonderful mentors.”
Thank you to our interns for all of your contributions this summer, and best of luck in the upcoming school year and your future careers!

Charles Makey, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Kelly Julius, Vice President of Human Resources, invited the summer interns to lunch at Pearl Street Grill, located across the street from Merchants’ corporate headquarters in downtown Buffalo, New York.
