Megan Hagner Receives Merchants’ 2022 President’s Award

Merchants Insurance Group has named Megan Hagner, Corporate Actuary, the recipient of the company’s 2022 President’s Award. Charles E. Makey, President of Merchants Insurance Group, made the announcement at the company’s 105th anniversary celebration.
About President’s Award
Since 1987, Merchants Insurance Group has recognized one outstanding colleague each year for their impressive contributions to the company’s success. Nominated by members of senior leadership, candidates for President’s Award exemplify Merchants’ core values: integrity, respect, loyalty, teamwork, and the aspiration to improve. President’s Award is the highest award with which Merchants recognizes a colleague.
Megan Hagner, 2022 President’s Award Recipient
On March 2, 2023, Megan Hagner was recognized as the recipient of the 2022 President’s Award. Megan earned this elite company designation because of her impactful contribution to the company during her long Merchants career and particularly during a challenging 2022 year.
“Megan’s long term contributions to the company and her team have been exceptional,” said Charles Makey.
In addition to her impressive performance and many accolades, Megan’s commitment to her team and positive attitude stood out to senior leadership when making this year’s selection.
“She embraces opportunities and challenges with a ‘can do’ positive attitude every day,” Mr. Makey added. “I am so proud to have Megan on our Merchants team and honored to recognize her with our 2022 President’s Award.”

Megan Hagner will join the ranks of previous President’s Award winners, listed on the first floor wall of Merchants Insurance Group’s corporate headquarters in downtown Buffalo, New York.
