Charles Makey, Merchants Insurance Group president, welcomes colleagues to the company’s first large-scale social excursion since pre-pandemic.

Merchants Brings Back In-Person Social Excursions

After two years of primarily remote work due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and finally returning to the office on a hybrid benefit in March of 2022, Merchants Insurance Group has now also brought back in-person colleague social excursions!

On Thursday, August 4th, Merchants Insurance Group invited all colleagues at its corporate headquarters to Other Half Brewing in downtown Buffalo, New York. This event marked the first of Merchants’ corporate office’s “post-quarantine” social excursions.

Comradery

At the social, colleagues enjoyed meeting and mingling with members of the Merchants community from across departments, including senior leadership.

Food & Drinks

Merchants ordered pizza and wings from Pearl Street Grill & Brewery for colleagues to enjoy alongside their drinks. Each colleague received two drink vouchers to order their preferred beverages from Other Half Brewing.

Giveaways

All attendees were entered into a raffle drawing for prizes including two $100 Amazon gift cards, twenty $25 gift cards, two pairs of tickets to the Bills vs. Colts NFL Preseason game on August 13th, and various types of Merchants swag!

Friendly Competition

Games like cornhole and Jenga, provided by Other Half Brewing, were also a big hit for team bonding!

Looking Forward to the Future

Merchants is proud to be able to resume in-person excursions like this Colleague Social and looks forward to their continuation!
