The employees of Merchants Insurance Group contributed more than $407,000 from 1999 through 2015 to charities, with $29,488 raised in 2015.

Contributions went to various non-profit groups throughout Western New York, including the Kaely’s Kindness Foundation, Tri-Community Food Pantry, Hospice Buffalo, The Food Bank of Western New York, Old First Ward Community Center, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Friends of the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, Buffalo City Mission, 100 Club of Buffalo, Southeast Work, and the Kiwanis Club of Buffalo, among others.

The organizations the company supported were chosen through employee suggestions, and the employees raised funds through activities such as “dress-down” days, raffles and split clubs. The activities are organized and managed by Merchants’ employees through their C.I.A., or Colleagues in Action, committee.
