To continue their assistance of the Western New York community during the pandemic, the employees of Merchants Insurance Group will be donating to FeedMore WNY as part of the company’s June “Casual for a Cause.”

Merchants’ CIA (Colleagues in Action) Committee decided to help FeedMore WNY as there’s an increased need for food donations during COVID-19.

FeedMore WNY was formed when the Food Bank of WNY and Meals on Wheels joined together. The mission of the group is to feed more Western New Yorkers of all ages for whom securing nutritious food is a challenge, per the organization’s website. FeedMore WNY’s mission is to offer dignity, hope and a brighter future by providing nutritious food, friendship and skills training to its Western New York neighbors in need. The organization may be reached at www.feedmorewny.org.

Merchants’ “Casual for a Cause” program allows employees to “dress down” in return for donations to various charities, on a monthly basis. While most employees are now working remotely, the company is continuing its long history of giving back to the community with this initiative.
