Merchants Insurance Group is pleased to announce that Christine Schmitt, CPA, CGMA, current Senior Vice President and CFO, has been promoted to Executive Vice President & CFO.
Joining Merchants in October 2018, by 2019 she was promoted to Senior Vice President and CFO. In that time she has enhanced the company’s accounting, finance, and IT processes, contributing to Merchants’ continued strong financial performance.
Ms. Schmitt has extensive financial, operating and corporate board experience in the property and casualty and life insurance industries.
With a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Wayne State University, Ms. Schmitt is a Certified Public Accountant and holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) credential.
She is also on the Board of Directors and Audit Committee Chair of ICC Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: ICCH), and Illinois Casualty Company, a regional, multi-line property and casualty insurance company focusing exclusively on the food and beverage industry.
