Merchants Insurance Group is pleased to announce that the Wolf Agency, Inc. has been named the company’s 2019 Agent of the Year.
The Agent of the Year designation is awarded to one of Merchants’ more than 1,000 independent agencies for achieving success through outstanding customer service, as well as supporting the company’s core values of integrity, respect, loyalty, teamwork and aspiring to improve. The Wolf Agency, headquartered in Orchard Park, New York, is part of the Empire Spectrum LLC group of agencies and was given this prestigious award for partnering with Merchants for more than 75 years. The Wolf Agency is dedicated to serving the insurance needs of the Western New York community, and was noted for their history of sharing Merchants’ goal of providing policyholders with peace of mind so they may live their dreams.

The agency was established in 1925 by Frank Wolf and has represented Merchants since 1943. Ray Caputo, president and agency principal, has owned the agency since 1972.
The Wolf Agency has earned President’s Club status with Merchants for several years, joining an elite group of independent insurance agents who have demonstrated a commitment to Merchants and achieved excellence in the insurance industry. The agency has also taken an active role in various Merchants’ business activities, with Ray Caputo serving on the company’s Agent Advisory Council and agency staff participating in numerous customer focus sessions for Merchants.
