Merchants Recycles Electronics to Support Camp Good Days Through 2025 “e-Scrap for Camp” Event

Merchants Insurance Group once again took part in Sunnking’s annual “e-Scrap for Camp” event, an electronics recycling initiative that benefits Camp Good Days & Special Times, a nonprofit organization supporting children, adults, and families affected by cancer.

Each year, Sunnking, an environmentally responsible electronics recycler, invites businesses across Buffalo, Rochester, and Utica, New York, home to its three regional facilities, to collect and recycle unwanted electronics over a two-week period. The proceeds from recycling are donated directly to Camp Good Days & Special Times, which provides life-changing experiences like summer camps and retreats for those impacted by cancer.

Merchants’ corporate headquarters contributed 3,740 pounds of recycled electronics to this year’s event!

Since the program began in 2010, Sunnking has made a meaningful impact environmentally and socially, helping to divert more than 6.8 million pounds of electronics from landfills and raised over $160,000 for Camp Good Days!

A special thank you goes to Jason Gallo, Enterprise Technology Services & Security Manager, for once again leading and coordinating Merchants’ involvement in this important cause.
