Merchants Insurance Group has promoted Shad McKnight to Senior Vice President of Underwriting and Product. In this role, Mr. McKnight leads the underwriting, product management and product development functions for Merchants Insurance Group.
Mr. McKnight, who joined Merchants in 2010, has a wide-ranging background including underwriting and product leadership roles with several national insurance carriers in the property and casualty insurance industry. While he has spent much of his career in underwriting, product management and product development, he also has spent time in marketing, strategic program management, claims and information technology.
Mr. McKnight holds a bachelor’s degree from Montana State University, a master’s degree from Ohio State University, and an information technology degree from Devry Institute of Technology.
He and his family reside in Orchard Park.
