Megan Hagner, Corporate Actuary, Earns FCAS Designation

BUFFALO, N.Y., August 23, 2019 — Merchants Insurance Group is pleased to announce that Megan Hagner, Corporate Actuary, Actuarial Department, has been awarded the professional actuarial designation Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS).

The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) is a leading international organization for insurance education and credentialing. CAS credentials demonstrate the expertise to identify, analyze and advise on the potential financial impact of risk and uncertainty. To achieve the Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) designation, students must pass ten actuarial exams, two online courses, and complete a course on professionalism. As of the most recent Annual Report (September 30, 2018), the CAS includes approximately 5,500 FCAS credentialed actuaries worldwide.

Ms. Hagner, who has been with Merchants since 2013, holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Mathematics from The College at Brockport, State University of New York.
