About Brian

Mr. Lipke is the retired Chairman of the Board of Gibraltar Industries, Inc. Prior to this, in addition to Chairman, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the company, a business he has worked for since 1972 and which he had led since 1987.

He is former Chairman of the Peace Bridge Authority and member of the Buffalo Fiscal Stability Authority, and former member of the Erie County Fiscal Stability Authority, where he was appointed by New York Governor Cuomo.

Business and Philanthropic Organizations

Mr. Lipke is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, and was named “1997 Business Executive of the Year” by Canisius College, “1998 Niagara Frontier Executive of the Year” by the Alumni Association of the University at Buffalo School of Management, the 2001 “Executive of the Year” from the Western New York Muscular Dystrophy Association, and the Sales & Marketing Association Executive of the Year.

Mr. Lipke serves on the following boards:

  • The Elmwood Franklin School
  • Clarus Linen Systems
  • The Hamister Group
  • Harmac Medical Products
  • NeXt Gen Inc.

He has also served on the boards of Women and Children’s Hospital, Kaleida Health, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, the Albright‐Knox Art Gallery, and Daemen College.
