The employees of Merchants Insurance Group contributed more than $280,000 from 2003 through 2013 to charities, with a new annual record of $34,018, raised in 2013.

Contributions went to various non-profit groups throughout Western New York, including Roswell Park; YWCA of WNY; Buffalo River Pantry; Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of WNY; The Lancaster Opera House; Response to Love Center; Harvest House; and Mercy Flight; among others.

The organizations the company supported were chosen through employee suggestions, and the employees were able to raise funds through activities such as “dress- down” days, auctions, raffles and split clubs. The activities are organized and managed by Merchants’ employees through their C.I.A., or Colleagues in Action, committee.
