Merchants Appoints Three New Executives

Merchants Insurance Group has announced the appointment of three new executives to its senior leadership team at the company’s corporate headquarters in downtown Buffalo, New York, effective June 2025.

“I am pleased to welcome Doug Zeyak, Lori Moore, and Brett Eater to our senior leadership team,” said Charles E. Makey, III, President and Chief Executive Officer of Merchants Insurance Group. “These individuals each bring decades of industry leadership experience, and I am confident that their contributions will further strengthen our company’s leadership and position us for continued success in an ever-changing market.”

 

Brett Eater Named Vice President, Head of Underwriting

As Vice President, Head of Underwriting, Mr. Eater will oversee underwriting operations and the company’s portfolio optimization and growth.

Lori Moore Named Vice President, Chief Actuary

As Vice President, Chief Actuary, Ms. Moore will oversee the company’s actuarial operations and play a key role in strategic planning.

Doug Zeyak Named Vice President, Product & Programs

As Vice President, Product and Programs, Mr. Zeyak will oversee the company’s product strategy, manage its product portfolio, and lead the product team.
