To help the Western New York community, the employees and management of Merchants Insurance Group will be donating to the WNY COVID-19 Community Response Fund as part of the company’s May “Casual for a Cause.” For every dollar Colleagues donate, the company will match $2.
The WNY COVID-19 Community Response Fund assists those who are working to meet the needs of people affected by COVID-19. By pooling funds and encouraging additional support, essential organizations can be helped with funding designed to complement public sector funds. As stated on the fund’s website, “Donations will enable us to rapidly deploy resources in the immediate areas of health, human services, mental health, food, childcare, transportation, and support for frontline responders.” The organization can be reached at wnyresponds.org.
Merchants’ “Casual for a Cause” program allows employees to “dress down” in return for donations to various charities, on a monthly basis. While most employees are now working remotely, the company continues its long history of giving back to the community with this special initiative.
