Strategy Teams Dinner

On September 23, 2026, Merchants held a Strategy Teams dinner at Pearl Street Grill across from the Company’s corporate headquarters in downtown Buffalo, New York.

Merchants’ Strategy Teams are comprised of Company Officers as well as High Potential Colleagues (HPCs), members and graduates of Merchants’ Leadership Development Program. Each Strategy Team is focused on a specific area of importance for the Company’s short term and long term planning and meets regularly to discuss and evolve their approaches as the industry and company also evolve.

The Strategy Teams Dinner on September 23rd was the kickoff to the following meeting day, during which each Strategy Team gathered to finesse their short term and long term plans for their respective areas of specialty, then present their plans to the entire group. The Strategy Teams will continue fine-tuning their plans based on one another’s feedback from this meeting and will conduct their final presentations to the Merchants Board in Quarter 4.

During the Strategy Teams Dinner, Merchants took the opportunity to surprise President & CEO Charles Makey with cake in recognition of his 30th anniversary at Merchants. To learn more about Makey’s 30th anniversary, his tenure at the Company, and recent accomplishments, click here.
