Merchants Insurance Group SMS/Texting Terms and Conditions

GENERAL INFORMATION

Merchants Insurance Group SMS/Texting is an ongoing text messaging service that provides information related to your Merchant Insurance Group policies. Text messages may include, but are not limited to, information such as:

    • Invoice Availability
    • Policy Document Availability

Merchants Insurance Group does not charge for this service. However, message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier. By providing your consent to participate in this service, the account holder approves any such charges from their mobile carrier. Charges for text messages may appear on your mobile phone bill or be deducted from your prepaid balance. Text messages will come from short code 12345 (Merchants Insurance Group). The number of messages received will vary based on your account activity.

You may receive a text message with a code to verify your phone number. You will receive one message per request.

HOW TO OPT-IN

You can enroll in the Merchants Insurance Group Text Messaging service via the Merchants Insurance Group Policy Holder Secure Portal.

As part of registration you will be asked to enter a 5 digits code texted to your phone, into the secure portal. Entering the 5 digits code into the portal, signifies that you understand and agree to these terms and conditions. After initiating the enrollment, you will receive a text confirming your enrolment.

After the enrollment is complete, you may receive periodic messages related to your policy. If you do not wish to complete your enrollment or do not respond to the invitation text message you will be automatically un-enrolled from the service.

If you do not receive either an invitation text message or a welcome text message then please log into your Merchants Insurance Group secure portal at www.merchantsgroup.com to verify your enrollment; or contact us at support@merchantsgroup.com; or 1 800 362 3343.

Once you are enrolled in the service, if you purchase a new policy you will automatically begin receiving text messages for that new policy.

HOW TO OPT-OUT

To stop receiving Merchants Insurance Group text messages, send STOP, END, QUIT, CANCEL or UNSUBSCRIBE to short code 12345. By doing so, your cell phone will be un-enrolled from the Merchants Insurance Group Text Messaging service.

You will receive a message confirming your enrollment.

If other cell phones are enrolled in the service, a STOP to 12345 must be sent from each cell phone that you want to unenrolled.

You can also un-enroll all cell phones by logging into your Merchants Insurance Group Secure Portal at www.merchantsgroup.com and unsubscribing to the texting option or contact us at support@merchantsgroup.com; or 1 800 362 3343.

You will receive a message that provides a link and a phone number.

By enrolling in the Merchants Insurance Group text messaging service, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions, below. These terms and conditions are subject to change, without notice, at Merchants Insurance Group’s sole discretion. The current version of these terms and conditions will be available here and you are responsible for being familiar with the current version throughout the term of your enrollment in Merchants Insurance Group’s text messaging service. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, PLEASE DO NOT ENROLL IN THE MERCHANTS INSURANCE GROUP TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE OR, IF ENROLLED, UN-ENROLL IMMEDIATELY.

  • Participation in the service is not a condition to purchase a policy. Participation in the service on this short code is part of a messaging service. (Message and data rates may apply.)
  • If you have any questions, please contact support@merchantsgroup.com; or 1 800 362 3343; or text HELP to short code 12345.
  • This is a subscription-based service. Texting STOP to short code 12345 will ensure that you no longer receive text messages from this Merchants Insurance Group Texting Service.
  • Message frequency varies by account. You may receive a varying number of messages per month depending on factors like the activity on your policy, your address, your payment frequency, and your bill-paying habits.
  • Any charges for sending and receiving texts, per the terms of your wireless plan, will appear on your wireless bill or be deducted from your prepaid balance.
  • We support these major carriers.
  • You are strictly prohibited from unauthorized use of this text messaging service; this text messaging service is for your personal, private use only.
  • By enrolling in Merchants Insurance Group’s text messaging service, you confirm that you are the subscriber to the phone number provided to Merchants Insurance Group or that you are the customary user of that phone number on a family or business plan and that you are authorized to enroll and receive texts from Merchants Insurance Group’s Text Messaging service.
  • You consent to the creation of an electronic record to document your enrollment.
  • You certify that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age or were authorized to enroll and receive texts by your parent or legal guardian.
  • You authorize Merchants Insurance Group to use autodialer or non-autodialer technology to send text messages to the phone number you used to enroll in the Merchants Insurance Group Text Messaging service.
  • Use of Merchants Insurance Group’s Text Messaging service may be monitored and recorded; by enrolling in this service, you consent to such monitoring and recording.
  • This text messaging service allows you to request and receive messages related to your Merchants Insurance Group policy account(s).
  • Subject to the terms and conditions of your mobile carrier, you may receive text messages sent to your mobile phone.
  • Text messaging is effective as soon as you complete the enrollment process. You accept that each text message may not be encrypted and may include information pertaining to your account.

Receipt of each text message may be delayed or prevented by factors affecting your mobile carrier and/or other factors outside of our control. NEITHER WE, NOR OUR AFFILIATES, WILL BE LIABLE FOR LOSSES OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM (A) NON-DELIVERY, DELAYED DELIVERY, OR MISDIRECTED DELIVERY OF A TEXT MESSAGE; (B) INACCURATE OR INCOMPLETE CONTENT IN A TEXT MESSAGE; OR (C) YOUR USE OR RELIANCE ON THE CONTENTS OF ANY TEXT MESSAGE FOR ANY PURPOSES.

CARRIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DELAYED OR UNDELIVERED MESSAGES

We reserve the right to terminate this text messaging service, in whole or in part, at any time without notice. The information in any text message may be subject to certain time lags and/or delays. You may stop receiving text messages at any time by on a given cell phone by sending STOP, END, QUIT, CANCEL or UNSUBSCRIBE to 12345 from that cell phone, or you may also opt-out by logging into your Merchants Insurance Group Secure Portal at www.merchantsgroup.com.

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE MERCHANTS INSURANCE GROUP TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND; MERCHANTS INSURANCE GROUP DISCLAIMS ANY SUCH WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED; MERCHANTS INSURANCE GROUP’S TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE COULD CONTAIN INACCURACIES, ERRORS, OR MIGHT NOT FUNCTION IN THE MANNER ANTICIPATED.
