Merchants Insurance Group has once again been named one of Western New York’s “Best Places to Work,” according to Buffalo Business First. This is the second consecutive year that Merchants has pursued and received this distinction.
Buffalo Business First published its annual “Best Places to Work in Western New York” on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Companies named on this year’s list were selected based on the results of an anonymous employee survey completed in the fall. The survey measures employee engagement in six categories:
- Communication
- Employee needs
- Manager effectiveness
- Personal engagement
- Team dynamic
- Trust in leadership
The organizations that achieved the highest scores on the anonymous employee survey were deemed “Best Places to Work in Western New York.”

Of 80 finalists, Merchants was one of just six companies of its size (250-799 employees) recognized in 2024.
