Merchants Insurance Group has been named as one of Business First’s 2023 “Best Places to Work in Western New York.”
Finalists were determined by the results of an anonymous employee survey conducted in the fall of 2022. The survey measured employee engagement in six categories:
- Communication
- Employee needs
- Manager effectiveness
- Personal engagement
- Team dynamic
- Trust in leadership
The companies with the highest scores on the survey were deemed Western New York’s Best Places to Work, according to Business First.

Of 77 finalists, Merchants Insurance Group was one of only 14 large companies (100-249 employees) recognized. While the business journal has published the annual list for 18 years, this was Merchants’ first time pursuing this distinction.
