Merchants Attends and Sponsors 2024 Best Places to Work and HR Impact Awards Event

As one of Business First’s Best Places to Work in Western New York, Merchants Insurance Group was invited to attend the annual Best Places to Work & HR Impact Awards celebratory event at Buffalo RiverWorks on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

While the event celebrates all Best Places to Work finalists, Business First also announces winners with the top survey results in each size category. This year, Merchants Insurance Group received second place  in the X-Large company (250-799 Employee) category!

This is the second consecutive year that Merchants has been named on Business First’s annual Best Places to Work in Western New York list. Finalists are determined by the results of an anonymous employee survey. The survey, taken in the fall each year, measures employee engagement in six categories: communication, employee needs, manager effectiveness, personal engagement, team dynamic, and trust in leadership.

Merchants’ survey results noted the company’s collaboration, teamwork, flexibility, inclusivity, and friendliness, according to Business First.

In addition to naming the Best Places to Work in Western New York each year, Business First honors the top human resources professionals with its annual HR Impact Awards.

At this year’s event, nine “heroes of the office in WNY” were recognized, including Merchants’ Vice President of Human Resources, Kelly Julius!
